Looks like the first 10 minutes hurt you. Without that, I say you hit 36-39.

Yeah. The first ten minutes was traffic trying to leave work.

That’s about what I get in my 2006 Mazda 3 for highway mpg’s with the 2.0. I drove a 2016 Kia Forte the other day and was almost at 40 mpg’s for the trip and that had an auto. These new cars are so much more efficient.

When we take long road trips in the pony car, I keep records that are a bit OCD, but I find them informative. On our spring road trip, the best average mileage I recorded (per tank) was 28.9 mpg. The worst was 21.2 mpg for a 291.1 mile sprint... but then again, it was at an average speed of 81.3 mph. Anyway, 34.5 mpg? I concur, not bad. Not bad at all.
